Sold everything (Victo's Bulwark, Superior Vigor Rune, Superior Absorption Rune, 4 Superior Tactics runes, -50 Health Grim Cesta) except my Victo's Axe and Superior Axe Mastery rune to 2 different people. Wanna know how most that cost me? About 200K. Wanna know what I got for it? 1300K and 105 Obsidian Shards. That's about a 8 times more, and with an amount like this, that's quite insane huh?
Just thought you might wonder how rich these sort of items can make you..

Aww Maxie - I wasn't inviting flames or anything. Like I said, I would have done EXACTLY the same as you - just wouldn't have announced it in an open forum!
But, hey, nobody seems to mind anyway.
Good luck to you

I replied on your PM, and yes, quite insane indeed Don't have much anymore though, just 30 gold Scrolls that gain my Triple XP, 2 10 slot Bags, which I'm both selling and my Victo's Axe and my Superior Axe Mastery rune.

Pre-Searing Pet Info
Finally finished a test today. Found a bit of interesting things.
Pets DO EVOLVE in pre screen1 and screen2. They also seem to get pretty large as shown in screen2. Mine levelled to Dire Wolf. I had read before that pets don't gain the evolution traits in Pre, but this one did for sure. It was suprising to see.
They only gain the evolved attribute AFTER being tamed. Prior to being tamed it was called WOLF, and the DIRE added to it immediately upon taming.
My character (Level 16) started to attempt to level the presently 20 wolf for well over 400 deaths - pet did not level to 21. That was disappointing, however, I am second guessing now and thinking possibly more deaths might be needed? Don't know if I'll try that again.... (especially after having the computer crash with the level 20 wolf the first time I tried to test ). I had originally extimated 400 should do it, but now think might need more since the pet is 20 to begin with instead of 5 levels above 10 like I was in going from 15 to 16 on my character.
Some observed pet damage stats during levelling the wolf (no gurantees on the accuracy of the ranges but these were what I could tell before my eyes glazed over):
Level 10 = 10-16
Level 11 = 11-17
Level 13 = 13-20 (single times of 25, 27,28)
Level 14 = 13-21 (single time of 28)
Level 19 = 17-27 (single time of 38)
Level 20 = 17-? (never saw more then 28)
*the sinlge much higher then typical hits seem as though the pet might get a bonus attack from a skill of some kind, but there was no skill animation/powerup. Also they timing didn't permit for it to be from two attacks added together in an odd hit.
Hope this is interesting for someone out there

I just leveled my pet (I'm lvl 14) from 2 to 20 (strider.) I started out at 753 deaths (I had leveled a pet before,) and started it at about 3am last night. It just finished (6:45pm.) I checked it at about 10am, and it was lvl 17, with 1248 deaths, and again at ~1pm, and it was lvl 19 with 1479 deaths. It went from 1479 to 1871 (possibly more, as I'm not sure at what count it turned 19) before it reached level 20, So I wouldn't doubt that your pet may have still been getting xp.
I'm certainly not going to test it when I get to lvl 16, but I'm fairly sure it'll stop getting xp after 20. Feel free to test and let me know though

@ shmek, Nice post! Oh, and the guy I mostly play Pre-Searing with had a lvl 20 Dire Strider, so yes, they do change apperiantly. I'm still not sure about the growing larger though.. Maybe it's just because it was Dire, and automaticly changes the size to a lvl 20 Dire Wolf, though, if it doesn't get a name, it won't change size? I'm 100% sure my Strider is as small as the lvl 1 ones, so that's the only thing I can think off.. Since I doubt it has anything to do with the fact you lvl'ed a Wolf instead.
It stops after lvl 20, it's a fact. I've lvl'ed a Moss Spider to lvl 24 though, too bad I always forget to screenshot it..
And about deaths.. I win, I've got 20 thousand deaths.

Hmm.. A bear might be able to get to higher level.. Not sure though, since Charm Animal is still possible on a bear, and is most likely still treated as a Pet, which can't level over level 20.

It's not an exploit... The only way to get a pet to level 20 is to be at least level 14 (6 levels lower.) At level 14 it's quite easy to be able to use Charm Animal on him without any armor at all even.
At level 6 I made myself a level 12 pet, and again at level 14 (lvl 20 pet.) I had no trouble either time with it killing me.

No one ever said it would be fast... infact, a lot say otherwise .
I was in asc city the other day and spotted a lvl 20, and i asked her how many times she had died (i figured it was this procedure), and she told me she had a death count of 119,000.
That could take a few weeks to get

Yeah, I was just hoping to get a bit more of a boost from it is all. Anyway, Mesmers are basically gods in Pre-searing anyway. Combine the Mesmer godhood with the Necro demi-godhood and... Eh, I figure I can hit high level pretty soon. Just have to find a partner to go Charr hunting with...

Nice guide.
I like the part about Gwen.
I dont think she died for 2 reasons:
1. i think she is the narrator for the post and pre searing part.
2.I found her broken flute a LONG way away from where she usually is, meaning that she probably dropped it while feeing. Just a thought though.

Nice ideas, but I can give you a tiny flaw in them...
Take into consideration that "Old Ascalon", the area outside of Ascalon City in Post-searing, was in Pre actually a part of Ascalon City. When you are in Post-Ascalon, you are actually in a farther back area of the city than you were in during Pre-searing. After leaving Post-Ascalon and entering the "Old Ascalon" area, the land is pretty warped from what it was in Pre, however this is easily explained by the fact that the Charr used powerful destructive magic to destroy Ascalon in the first place. This force could easily have warped the landscape. This would also explain why it seems that the flute is farther away.. You have to take a longer route to the location now due to the land warps. The locations I have found Gwen's Flute in have always been geographically close to were it was/would have been in Pre-searing.
Of course, this is just a load of inferences and I could very well be mistaken
